Sir,

Offices of the Crown Agents for the Colonies,

Spring Gardens London. S.W.

27 November 1866

RECEIVED

NOV 28 1866

I regret that your letter of the 23 instant reached this Office too late to prevent the Crown Agents from replying to the statement made in a letter of the Acting Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong, which they addressed to them on the 26 July last, relative to the despatch of Silver 10 cent pieces.

That letter was answered on the 4th instant, and Mr Rennie was informed that an explanation of the matter had been sent to the Earl of Carnarvon on the 13th October, and would doubtless be forwarded by his Lordship to the Governor of Hong Kong.

I have the honor to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient servant,

Colonial Office
